My name is Jessika McCuin and I’m the owner and lead planner of Jessika McCuin Weddings, based in central Arkansas.

 

When I’m not knee deep in planning weddings, you can find me hanging with my family of four — my daughters, Ellis and Olive, and my husband, Tyler. Most of our free time is spent enjoying time together at home. I lucked out when marrying Tyler. He is the most interactive and present Dad, and it melts me. He tackles the title of Mr. Mom effortlessly when work (or sometimes play — which he encourages!) keeps me away from home. He’s the best listener when I need it, and he knows that my cure-all is a clean kitchen, glass of red wine, and an Anthropologie candle burning. He’s a general contractor, so he can (and frequently does) build all sorts of nonsense for me. He also likes to remind me not to fall victim to the unrealistic renovation costs of Fixer Upper when Chip & Joanna convince me I need to remodel my entire home. A girl can dream, though.

My nights in frequently include an episode (or five) of the Real Housewives of pretty much every city and The Bachelor. Guilty pleasure much? Our couple-shows are Blacklist, Blindspot (yes, Patterson is my doppelgänger), How to Get Away with Murder, and The Voice… even though we usually lose interest after the auditions and knockouts.

I live for non-wedding Saturdays during grilling season. Tyler is a bit of a grill-master, and there’s nothing like a full day spent with your family, enjoying a craft beer and the most perfect medium-cooked steak.

On the chance you catch me out for a girl’s night, you can bet it’s centered around food— and me accidentally talking about my littles the whole time. I occasionally love a good shopping trip, but I do the most damage online. Hello, cyber deals! My husband likes to remind me that my degree in marketing does me no good when I fall for every ad campaign I see. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a catchy sales slogan!
